On March 26th, The Time Machine Radio Show (KEAO on Maui) was part of a multi-station donation drive to benefit the victims of the earthquake, tsunami and aftermath in Japan. The broadcast began at 2PM on Mana’o Radio out of Maui and ended shortly after 7PM. Other stations that participated: Pop Garden Radio, AM1300 WMEL (Cocoa, FL), Woody Radio (Canada), Twirl Radio (Sacramento, CA), and WPAZ, (Pottstown, PA). All of the stations offered something musical in unreleased material while urging listeners to donate to a number of different charities.
A number of artists from around the globe who have been on The Time Machine broadcast over the years had submitted music that was played exclusively on March 26th in addition to live in-studio performances from Maui’s talented group of singer-songwriters. Participating artists included Brian Ray (Paul McCartney Band), Rachael Yamagata, Seth Swirsky, Lisa Loeb, Nick Vernier Band, Paul McCartney with Steve Martin, Johnny Winter, Lisa Mychols, and The Doobie Brothers.
